After bearing witness to the attentive and loving care her grandfather gave to her grandmother in her dissent into Alzheimer's, Barbulesco-Lamb felt it was essential to educate the public about the disease as well as contribute to funds for research. She wrote the first draft of REMEMBER ISOBEL in November 2009. Actress and Alzheimer's advocate Kate Mulgrew (“Orange is the New Black” and “Star Trek”) then served in an advisory role to help polish the script.  After spending a couple years fundraising, Barbulesco-Lamb rewrote the screenplay in the form of a live theater performance and put the story on stage to raise more awareness about and funds for the film.  Don Most (“Happy Days”) and Ronnie Marmo (“General Hospital”) came on board as executive producers and also signed on to appear in the film.  Additionally, Alfred Molina (“Spider Man 2”), Michael Badalucco (“The Practice”), Alan Donnes (“National Lapoon”), and the Southland Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association all joined the project as Executive Producers.  The film was produced in 2014 and then made its way through post-production to its finished form which will premiere in Barbulesco-Lamb's hometown Sebastiani Theatre.  The film features music from a wide variety of talent including folk singer and Sonoma favorite John McCutcheon as well as Ken Koenig, Keith Gray, and Big Gerry.

REMEMBER ISOBEL tells the story of the Martin-Bailey family as they struggle to deal with the loss of their beloved grandmother Isobel to Alzheimer's.  Cathryn Bailey (Mia Altieri) has always seen herself as lucky.  Her loving wife Helen Martin (Elise Hodge) has been by her side for eighteen years, helping her to raise their sons, Patrick (Cohl Kenneth Klop) and Ryan (Kaleb Horvath).  Cate's mother, Isobel (Scarlet O'Connor), has always found a way to lift her daughter up and instill a sense of indomitable strength in her family.  When Isobel is diagnosed with Alzheimer's though, her ability to fulfill her role as matriarch and caregiver begins to unravel, and Cate suddenly finds herself struggling to care for everyone.  Helen, the boys, Cate's brothers – everyone – tries to find a way to help Cate with Isobel but, in the end, no one knows how to let this magnificent woman go.  All they can do is love the person that remains in the wake of this treacherous disease and always REMEMBER ISOBEL.

Alzheimer's currently affects nearly six million people in the United States alone and is predicted to reach epidemic levels by 2030.  While most are diagnosed in their senior years, symptoms of early-onset Alzheimer's can appear as young as the age of thirty.  Regardless of the age of the afflicted, Alzheimer's is a disease of the family, as loved ones must bear witness to the slow loss of a person they treasure.
